In 1963, Jack Heuer named the Carrera collection after the Carrera Panamericana, a road race of legend. He imagined an iconic design with a wide-open, easy-to-read dial and a shock-resistant and waterproof case tough enough for even the most intense road wear. A mythical series was born. In 2010, the oscillating pinion was used, in a Carrera case, to create the Calibre 1887, the in-house calibre chronograph. A half-century after its dramatic arrival in the watch-making scene, the timeless Carrera remains the standard-bearer of TAG Heuer
